Rhonda ... if Susan's cornstarch thickening Susan doesn't work for you,
check out the new  "Edibly Impressed" product line (recently demoed on HGTV)
which includes edible inks per the website:

These products are new and may not be in your area yet so it probably
wouldn't work for the upcoming "edible books" tea, but you might be
interested in this option for future creations.
