[BKARTS] Making Cloth into Bookcloth

I bought some wonderful fabric scraps (from sample books) in downtown
L.A. today and I'd like to use them to bind books. I need to back them
with some kind of paper first, tho, to keep the glue from soaking
through the fabric. I have read about ironing freezer paper on the back,
but I've also read that the paper lets go eventually, so that won't do.
Can any of you give me some suggestions on how to back this fabric in
order to made it suitable for bookbinding? Thanks!
