Nisa ... how about adding "tabs" going down the right side of the page to
use in turning them. With a nice artistic treatment, tabs could enhance or
at least complement what's on the page. Throught creative selection of media
for the tabs (protective coats, ephemera, graphics, etc.) they could be
designed to resist wear and tear.
