Ben has given you good advice, Teresa. Romanesque in bookbinding as in art refers to the early medieval period, ca. 1000-1200 in western Europe, broadly speaking. You didn't realize it, of course, but your question was on the order of "What's a rocket and how do I build one"? It's a legitimate question, but hardly possible to answer fully in an email.
