"From College Printer to Personal Publisher"

David R. Godine, known as "the last of the personal publishers,"
will present a lecture accounting for his beginnings as
an undergraduate printer at Dartmouth, his year in the pressroom
of sculptor Leonard Baskin's Gehenna Press, five years in New York
learning the business with the Book-of-the-Month Club, and
his establishment of the house which bears his name.
He is famed for publishing material close to his heart-
writers he has discovered, classics he claims have been
too long out of print, and typography and the graphic arts.

The presentation, which is free and open to the public,
will be preceded by a reception and dinner celebrating
the undergraduate college presses at Yale.
Current Yale students are free with their meal cards.
Other guests are asked to pay $25 at the door.
