[BKARTS] Public reception with Mare Blocker in Portland, OR

This Thursday (Jan. 29, 2004) at 7 PM there is a public reception for the
book artist Mare Blocker in conjunction with the continuing exhibition,
"Personal Myths & Private Magic: Booksworks of the MKimberly Press which
remains on view in Multnomah County Library's Collins Gallery until February
13, 2004.

This reception follows a "storytime" reading in December at which the artist
read from her works on a large throne-like chair that she and Buzz White
constructed  from Reader's Digest Condensed books.

The exhibition celebrates 20 years of highly creative work by Ms Blocker and
features materials from the Library's special collections, the John Wilson
Room, as well as one-of-a-kind works from private collectors, including the
