small world.
I actually found an old "Original Bookbinders" matchbook at a yard sale
about three weeks ago for 5 cents-- nice little Item to have on the
studio wall.

John,
"Old Original Bookbinders" is a 139 year old Philly Restaurant. The
"fancy"
building on your ashtray is probably their original location on 16th
street,
which is literally right down the street from us.
It was founded in 1865 by "Samuel Bookbinder," and remained in the
"Bookbinder family" until 1935. No actual connection with the craft of
bookbinding. At
least not in this country. Their website is:
www.oldoriginalbookbinders.com
If you like great seafood or steaks, you need to stop by there when
you're in
Philadelphia! However, the Philadelphia location is closed until
summer 2004,
for remodeling. But they do have two additional locations in
Richmond, VA.
The website will give all you want to know!
