The natural beauty of this area is awe inspiring.

Joan Michaels Paque has exhibited and taught in Japan, Australia,
Europe, Mexico and Canada. Her work can be found in many corporate,
private and museum collections. She has written and published three
books and writes for art trade journals. She is currently writing a
monograph on complex pleat folds inspired by research on the work of
Fujimoto Shuzo Sensei.

In addition to both traditional and innovative building and binding
techniques she will be introducing, for the first time, the results of
three years of experimentation with complex pleat folds. These have
resulted in a unique series of kinetic sculptural books. The use of
conventional and unothodox materials and techniques will be explored
along with creative ideas, concepts and applications. Sequential
procedures and finishes will also be included. Class size is limited.
