Re: [BKARTS] Paper trimmer - Kutrimmer Prices
Dear Keith:
As a subscriber to the list and a dealer of various paper trimmers, I can
comment as follows:
Most kutrimmer cutters will handle 80 point bookboard. These models
include: 1071 (28"), 1058 (22"), and 1038 (15"). I would not recommend the less
expensive "office supply store" calibre cutter for bookboard as they lack the
heavy duty construction as well as the accuracy needed in bookbinding.
For you information, here are the prices (guaranteed lowest in North
America) for the mentioned Kutrimmer models:
#1038 - 15.0" cut length / 50 sheets - US$328
with adjustable side gauge & strip cutting mechanism
#1058 - 22.5" cut length / 40 sheets - US$498
with adjustable side gauge & strip cutting mechanism
#1071 - 28.0" cut length / 40 sheets US$588
with adjustable side gauge & strip cutting mechanism
*** FREE SHIPPING for the continental USA and Canada. ***
Units are brand new with warranty.
We also offer rotary paper trimmers from such names as Rotatrim and Kobra,
as well as the rare "Creative Memories" deckle edge cutter made by Susis.
Good luck.

I plan to begin making slipcases and clamshell boxes. I need advice about a
paper cutter. It looks like a Kutrimmer 1071 (28" cutting blade) would be
very suitable for this. I don't expect to rebind books in a serious way. Are
there other paper cutters that I should investigate? Would the shorter
(cheaper) cutters be adequate?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
