2003 WKSP-015
Embracing Technology: The Marriage of Books and CDs

Duration: One day; Sat., May 8

The digital age has arrived and information is increasingly being presented
on CDs. We will look at structures that artists have used that incorporate
CDs and examine the kinds of information and graphics that CDs present best.
We will make models of structures that accommodate CD disks, including
folders, flyers, sewn structures, and a pop-up book/box.

2003 WKSP-016
Well-Dressed Books: Packages, Boxes & Containers
Instructor: Ed Hutchins
Location: CBBAG Bindery
Duration: One day; Sun., May 9
Hours: 10 am - 5 pm
Course fee: $60 members/$105 non-members*
Materials fee: $20 payable to the instructor
In this class you will create imaginative boxes for text and images, and
transform existing containers into personal book vessels. Bring an unusual
container to class and we will explore how it can be used to deliver the
message in a bookish sort of way. The only requirement is an inquiring mind
and a willingness to make boxes by thinking outside the box.
