Re: [BKARTS] book show opening

For those planning to attend the AIC Meetings in Portland this June, it is worth noting that this show is within a few blocks of the conference hotel. One can walk to it easily (providing you are used to walking)—4-5 blocks. The show ends in the middle of the meetings. The OBAG exhibit is usually pretty good, well worth a visit.

Journals of Discovery
April 28-June 12, 2004

The Oregon Book Arts Guild presents a juried show of handmade books created
around the theme "Journals of Discovery,"commemorating the 200th anniversary of
the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The books in this exhibition reflect on the
journey of Lewis and Clark, and also on the artist's own personal journeys. The
books are hand-bound and highlight a variety of techniques, including
hand-lettering, letterpress, and computer set content. The exhibit will also be
featured at the International Calligraphy Conference in St. Louis, Missouri in July
2004.
