The Rutgers University Department of Literatures in English is
soliciting papers from graduate students that explore topics relating to
interior spaces, both psychic and material, in the long nineteenth
Possible topics include but are not limited to

Gendered Spaces
Genre and Interiority
Privacy and Detection
Anatomy / The Body
Reflection and Imagination
Theories of Introspection
Private Collections and Public Displays
Reading Spaces
Social Circles

Please submit abstracts of 200-300 words by June 1, 2004, to
