I'm assuming you are saying it's not sturdy enough to withstand use in the
joints and if using to cover a box that the box doesn't have some sort of
hinge either. So, what about as a quarter leather using bookcloth for the
spine? Doug Sander's description of ways to "embellish" ray skin are rather
