Dear Book Arts Friends,

Bright Hill Press will host its third annual North American
Juried Book Arts
Exhibition at Bright Hill Center's beautiful Word & Image Gallery, 94
Church Street,
Treadwell, NY, from October 3-29, 2004. The first two annual exhibits
were noteworthy
for the innovative books and fine quality of the exhibitors, and we
look forward to
another great exhibit!
This year's exhibit will be juried by 1. NANCY CALLAHAN,
winner of BHP's
2nd Juried Book Arts Exhibit, book arts teacher at Syracuse
University, at the Women's
Studio Workshop, the Center for Book Arts in NYC, and Assoc. Professor
of Art at
State University of New York, Oneonta, NY; she has been a fellow at
the Virginia
Center for the Creative Arts, the Byrdcliffe Colony in Woodstock, and
the International
Book Arts REsidency in Hungary; she traveled to Siberia in 2000 to
teach artists' books
to students at the Fine Arts Institute; and 2. LOUISE NEADERLAND,
founder of
the International Society of Copier Artists and the ISCA Quarterly,
the assemblage
project of the Society; her work has been exhibited widely and is
represented in major
collections in the US and abroad; she is the recipient of a grant from
the National
Endowment for a series of books, Where is Home. She regards her
founding and
directorship of the ISCA as having made a most important contribution
to the promotion
of inexpensive ultiples which have served to introduce collectors,
artists, and the
general public to artists' books through the ISCA Quarterly's annual
box of artists'
books.
Entries may include traditionally-bound books, artists' books,
sculptural
bookworks, hanging books, etc., that have been created in the period
2000-2004 and
never exhibited at Bright Hill Center. Entries will be juried from the
actual books and
shipped to BHC no later than August 18, 2004, to arrive no later than
August 25, 2004.
First place winner will receive $200, and Second place winner will
