[BKARTS] A bookish Weekend Sept 11 and 12 in Ann Arbor, MI

                Join the Midwest Chapter of the Guild of BookWorkers, Hollanders Paper and the merchants of Kerrytown in Ann Arbor for a fun filled bookish weekend.  On Saturday a workshop with Barbara Korbel and on Sunday the second annual KerryTown Bookfest with  demonstrations, slide shows and dozens of vendors with supplies,  and books to sell.

                3 Dimensional Attachments with Barbara Korbel  
                Learn how to attach 3-dimensional objects to a flat surface such as a binding or box. This workshop will cover both functional and decorative aspects with an emphasis on craftsmanship and permanence.  Four models will be made and will include the attachment of clasps (and other closures), jewels, metal and glass.  Also, the use of framing devices and the covering and layering of leather embellishments will be discussed.  Basic materials will be provided although participants will be encouraged to bring 3 dimensional items appropriate for use on bindings or boxes.  This workshop is being  jointly sponsored by the Midwest Chapter of the Guild of Bookworkers and Hollander's. Class Fee: $95,   $85 for Midwest Guild Members (Includes materials)
                Class limited to 12.  Registration deadline September 1, 2004
