Excuse any cross postings, but I thought this book may be of some interest
to the list.  I have not seen it, but just ordered one for myself.

  BOSS, Thomas G. and Martin Antonetti. BOUND TO BE THE BEST: The Club
Bindery. Boston: Thomas G. Boss, 2004. 4to, 137pp, 28 full-page color plates
of which four are tipped-in and 46 full-page black and white plates of fine
bindings. Full royal blue cloth, gilt. New, at the published price. $195.
  The first major treatment of the finest hand bindery ever to exist in the
United States. Describes 59 books together with informative material and
photographs relating to binding tools and brass plate dies in addition to
indices of author, title, and exhibition history. A thoroughly researched
essay on the history of the Club Bindery and its later incarnations, with
sumptuous plates of fine bindings exectured by The Club Bindery, The Rowfant
Bindery, The Booklovers Shop and The French Binders. Designed by Jerry Kelly
and printed in an edition of 550 copies, this work was published to coincide
with the fall, 2004, Grolier Club exhibition of The Club Bindery.
