WHAT: Judith Hoffberg will give a lecture
titled "Seduced and Astonished: Forty Years with Artist Books", concerning
her 40-year long involvement in the world of artist books.
WHO: Judith Hoffberg is the editor and
publisher of Umbrella, a newsletter of artist publications, and a leading
curator and lecturer in the field of artist books.

ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BOOK ARTS
The Center for Book Arts is dedicated to the preservation of the traditional
crafts of bookmaking, as well as encouraging contemporary interpretations of
the book as an art object. Founded in 1974, it was the first
not-for-profit organization of its kind in the nation. The Center organizes
exhibitions related to the art of the book and offers an extensive selection
of educational courses, workshops and seminars in traditional and
contemporary bookbinding, letterpress printing, fine press publishing, and
other associated arts.
The Center for Book Arts is supported by local businesses, various
foundations including the Lenrow Fund, the Milton and Sally Avery Arts
Foundation, the NY State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the
Arts, and its members.
