Re: [BKARTS] Inquiry about standard sizes for parchment sheets

I would be really surprised (and that would hardly be the first time) if
parchment was ever sold in precut "sheets".  The whole notion of standard
sheet size comes from paper, does it not?  In Italy in the 1500's paper was
probably already crowding out vellum for texts, though I wouldn't know how
the two compared in price.  The range and sizes of paper was probably not
standardized that early anyway, though regions might have become accustomed
to the sizes locally produced.
