[BKARTS] January 15 Florida Workshop

If by chance any of you out there are interested in Maddy Rosenberg's "The
Book as Theater" workshop here at FAU, I should mention that there are only
two seats left in the class at this point. Those two will go first come,
first served, so if you are interested, email me (off list) to reserve a
space. Here's the class description:

Saturday, January 15, 2005, 10am to 4pm
at the new and still evolving Wimberly Library 5th Floor Bookbinding Studio
Experience: All levels. Class Limit: 12.
Tuition: $65 general public / $40 FAU students
Plus Materials Fee: $10

"The Book as Theater" taught by Maddy Rosenberg
This workshop focuses on conceptualizing the flat, two-dimensional page
into a complete three-dimensional environment. Exploration of the skills
and techniques involved to turn the flat sequences of a book into a
rotating stage set, in the fusion of form and function.

Maddy Rosenberg is a book artist and visual artist from Brooklyn, New York.
She has taught extensively in both workshop and university settings, and in
the 1990s, was awarded a grant to teach book arts to high school students
at Manhattan Graphics Center. Her work was recently included in the
Brooklyn Public Library exhibit, "Beyond the Page: 3D and the Artists' Book."
