[BKARTS] Richard Minsky Events at Syracuse University Library - "The Bill of Rights" and "Material as Metaphor" - March 4-5, Syracuse, NY

<Please post and cross-post>

The Syracuse University Library is proud to host several events featuring
Richard Minsky and his work during February and March.

"The Bill of Rights," a traveling exhibit interpreting the first ten
amendments of the "Bill of Rights"will be on display January 31 - April 1,
6th Floor E.S. Bird Library. See <http://www.minsky.com/a-bill.htm> for
more information about the individual works and the exhibition.

On Friday, March 4, at 4:00 p.m., as part of the Syracuse University
Library's Seminar Series in the History of the Book, Minsky will be
speaking on the evolution of his use of material as metaphor in his 40
years as a book artist. The lecture will be held on the 6th floor of E.S.
Bird Library and is free and open to the public.

A workshop titled "Material as Metaphor" will also be offered. Participants
will learn to evaluate their own work by balancing the power of the object
(material and structure), image and metaphor. The goal is to achieve
"museum finish," in which the space around the work appears to vibrate.
Attendees will bring examples of their own work for this critiquing
workshop. The workshop date is Saturday, March 5, 10 - 4, 6th floor E.S
Bird Library.
