The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University reports the
loss of pg. [1]  of  Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's A study in scarlet ... (London
; New York : Ward, Lock, [1887]) from the Tinker collection (Tinker 847.)
The page was inscribed "With the Author's Compliments Nov 25th 87."
