might be to check out abebooks.com or other Internet sites to see if you can find an inexpensive copy to purchase (and maybe even restore).

Failing that, is it possible to discuss with the librarian your
interest in the book?  Perhaps the library would be willing to
give you permission to rebind/restore the book or even deaccession
it to you.
