[BKARTS] Publishers' Bindings Catalog

Many people have inquired about the catalog of my exhibition/collection of
American Decorated Publishers' Bindings 1872-1929.

You can now order the catalog at a very reduced price by advance
subscription.

Details are online at
http://minsky.com/pub-dec-other.htm

installation photos with a list of the 36 identified artists included in
the exhibition are at

The order form is at

The exhibition has been extended through April 2005, and the books now on
display are mostly new acquisitions.

There are three editions of the catalog being planned for issue in 2006:

1. A deluxe edition limited to 25 signed and numbered copies printed in
archival high resolution inkjet on fine paper, with color pictures of all
the books in the collection, in a foil stamped cloth binding designed and
produced by Richard Minsky, inspired by this collection. The images include
enlarged images of the designers' monograms. The CD-ROM version of the
catalog is included, mounted in a recess in the back cover.

2. The same text on acid-free paper, in a printed paper wrapper, in an
edition limited to 100 signed and numbered copies, with about 100 color
pictures. The CD-ROM version of the catalog is included, in a separate
plastic case.

3. All the text and images in color on a CD-ROM with a database including
separate fields for title, author, publisher, date, description of binding;
images from scans or digital photographs of all the books in the
collection. A browser-viewable version of the checklist with "thumbnail"
images will be linked to larger images for onscreen viewing.

* Subscribers will also have access to a private website while the book is
being produced, with images of all the covers that have been scanned or
photographed, updated weekly. There are currently over 115 color images on
that version of the checklist. That site will also have the illustrated
essays as they are completed.
