[BKARTS] Langworthy and Leonard in Aurora, New York

The Wells Book Arts Summer Institute is proud to announce presentations by
book artists Sara Langworthy and Julia Leonard on Tuesday, 21 June at 8pm.
The slide lectures will take place in the Art Exhibit Room, Macmillan Hall,
on the Wells College campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The presentations are part of the first session of Wells' inaugural Book
Arts Summer Institute. Sara Langworthy is teaching a seminar entitled,
"Drawing at the Press: Fluid Approaches to Letterpress Printing," and Julia
Leonard is teaching "Binding Structure and Story." Each artist will speak
about her work; time for questions will follow.

Sara Langworthy earned a Graduate Certificate in Book Arts from the
University of Iowa Center for the Book, where she was Conservation Assistant
at the University of Iowa Conservation Lab. Most recently, she served as
Print Artist-in-Residence at MCBA. She received a Jerome Emerging
Printmakers Residency in 2003 and an Artist¹s Production Grant from Women¹s
Studio Workshop in 2001. Sara has taught classes in Minnesota, Iowa, and
North Carolina. Her work is collected and exhibited nationwide.

Julie Leonard received an MFA in Design and a Graduate Certificate in Book
Arts from the University of Iowa in May 2001. She maintains a studio in Iowa
City and teaches book arts and graphic design at the University of Iowa. She
has taught book arts at the University of Iowa Center for the Book, Penland
School of Craft, Omega Institute for Holistic Studies and a number of art
centers. She has been a visiting artist and teacher in the public schools in
Western North Carolina and Iowa City. Her work is collected and exhibited

Next week, artists Nancy Leavitt and Walter Tisdale will present lectures.
