Competition being sponsored by The Cincinnati Book Arts Society need to 
be postmarked by August .

CALL FOR ENTRIES:

The Cincinnati Book Arts Society announces a juried exhibition that 
will focus on the word in visual art. The emphasis will be on language 
as a graphic element, a carrier of humor or an additional layer of 
content. All media are welcome. (The exhibit is neither limited to nor 
exclusive of book arts.)

WordArt will be exhibited at The University of Cincinnati's College of 
Design, Art, Architecture and Planning, Downtown Gallery, 628 Sycamore 
St. Cincinnati, OH. This is a high profile space in the heart of 
downtown Cincinnati's business district. It is also the site where the 
best of the University's permanent  art collection will be housed and 
displayed

Exhibition Dates: October 14 – November 26, 2005

Jurors:
Gary Gaffney, Professor of Painting and Drawing, Art Academy of 
Cincinnati
Kelly Malec-Kosak, Assistant Professor, Sculpture and Metalsmithing, 
The Columbus College of Art and Design
Harry Campbell, Book and Paper Conservator for the special collections 
of the Ohio State University Libraries

Juror awards of up to $1000 will be made.
All entries must be postmarked by August 1st, 2005 to

Works will be insured while on site at the gallery. For accepted works, 
artists are responsible for shipping. Return packaging and postage must 
also be provided by the artist.

Entrants notified: by August 23rd
Works due at gallery: September 19th

Packet must include:
1. Submission form

2.  Slides or digital images (must be tiff or jpeg format at 300dpi) of 
up to three works (two views each max) on CD.
Images must be labeled with artist's name, title of work, media, 
dimensions, year completed. Indicate top on slides. Please mark entry # 
on slides or digital files

3. $20 entry fee for up to three entries (Works submitted must be works 
to be shown, jurors reserve the right to eliminate works which do not 
seem to match images submitted.) Checks should be made payable to 
CBAS-WordArt.

4. SASE  if you want materials returned to you
