Re: [BKARTS] Australia Council supports 3rd Australian Artists' Books Forum

The Australia Council  has annouced that the 3rd Australian Artists'
Books Forum at Artspace Mackay on 25th & 26th of February 2006 will
receive $20,000 in funding through the Presentation and Promotion
Program of the Visual Arts / Craft Board. 

The funding will assist Artspace Mackay to host international speakers
and artists for the first time in in the Forum's three year history. 

"We are delighted to hear that the Australia Council will be supporting
the 3rd Australian Artists' Books Forum which will include speakers and
presenters from Germany, South Korea, the UK and the USA," said Robert
Heather, Director of Artspace Mackay.

"In 2005 the Forum attracted over 130 delegates from all corners of
Australi and we hope to see more participants in 2006."

"The Forum will be the first official event in the 40th Anniversary
Celebrations of the Print Council of Australia and Imprint Magazine and
the funding will be combined with the funding we have received from the
Regional Arts Fund to enable the visiting international artists to take
part in a post-conference residency program at university and artists
books studios in Canberra, Townsville, Brisbane and Lismore."

The 3rd Australian Artists' Books Forum will include presentations by:

- Sarah Bodman, Centre for Fine Print Research, University of Western
England, Bristol, UK 
- Linda Caroli, freelance curator, Brisbane
- Angela Cavalieri, artist, Melbourne
- Helen Cole, James Hardie Librarian, State Library of Queensland
- Des Cowley, Rare Books Librarian, State Library of Victoria, Melbourne
- Professor Diana Davis, President, Print Council of Australia &
Lecturer, James Cook University, Townsville
- Malcolm Enright, artist and collector, Brisbane 
- Nola Farman, artist, Sydney
- Noreen Grahame, Grahame Galleries + Editions, Brisbane
- Juli Haas, artist, Melbourne
- Narae Kim, Korean Book Arts Fair, Seoul, South Korea
