Minnesota Center for Book Arts, in partnership with the Laurel Poetry
Collective, is sponsoring a binding design competition. Prizes will be
awarded in five categories: best use of leather, best use of handmade paper,
best use of non-traditional materials, best thematic interpretation, and
overall excellence. The text will be The Laurel Poetry Collective¹s 2006
Anthology, a 6 x 9 inch, single signature, 32 page volume, printed on 60
pound Torchglow Vellum.  An entry fee of $10 covers the cost of the text
block and associated postage and handling. Completed bindings must be
received by Friday, May 5, 2006. Text blocks will be available for
distribution beginning February 1, 2006. Only 100 text blocks will be
available to participants, with a maximum of two per individual. Winning
entries will be shown in Ignited, an exhibition in MCBA¹s Gallery, from May
19 ­ July 8, 2006.  For a complete listing of participation rules and
requirements and to reserve a copy of the text block, send a check and
stamped, self-addressed envelope to:
