Greetings from the southwest. I want to let you
know of the annual workshop coming up at Ghost
Ranch combining painting, writing and drawing with
bookmaking in 21,000 acres of high desert:

Poetry of the Desert: Writing a Landscape

The desert landscape of Ghost Ranch is vast and intoxicating to the  
senses.
We will combine explorations of writing, drawing and painting through  
the
imagery, sound and smell of the desert.

This workshop is part of a series that investigates  the ways that the
universal elements of line, pattern and texture, as they are found in
landscape, can be reflected through writing, drawing and painting.
Students will make hand bound and painted books of their sketches.


            Date: May 8-14, 2006
            Time: From 5 pm on Monday ‘til noon on Sunday
            Place: Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, NM
            Fees:  Room, board and workshop fee for the week:  $1275

There will be an opening ceremony with Jorge Calderon.


A  materials fee of $25 will be payable to the instructor at the time  
of the workshop.
A list of simple materials to bring will be sent to participants  
after registering, along with other details.
