[BKARTS] Bookmaking at Pyramid Atlantic--Summer 2006

Dear Bookmaking Students,

Pyramid Atlantic Art Center still has openings in three exciting bookmaking
workshops this Summer!

Books & Personal Art with Maria Anasazi
June 24 & 25 from 10am-3pm
The book can easily be transformed into personal art, whether making a book
from scratch or altering it. Starting with traditional and non-traditional
bookmaking techniques, we will discuss concepts and ideas about the self,
about private and public art, and choose a topic to explore.

Extreme Boxmaking with Jody Williams
July 18, 19, & 20 from 9:30am-4pm
This advanced boxmaking class will emphasize creating appropriate containers
for objects, images, or small books with an overall theme. Hands-on
demonstrations and discussion of hinging, closures, and choosing materials.

Artist Book: Advanced with Mindy Belloff
July 28 & 29 from 9:30am-4pm
Using the Vandercook letterpress, you will emerge with a solid understanding
in producing an editioned book. You will be guided to develop ideas & choose
appropriate techniques for your work.

Please call Lama at 301.608.9101 or send her an email at
ldajani@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for more details on and to register for one (or
all!) of these workshops.
