Re: [BKARTS] Chicago/Book and Paper places...

Hello, Jane,

"Work of Many Hands: The Art of Islamic Bookmaking" is at the Art Institute, as is an exhibit of "Posada and the Mexican Broadside". <http://www.artic.edu/aic/exhibitions/exhibition/islamicbooks>

(The Art Institute has free evenings through the summer on Thursday and Friday.)

Center for the Book and Paper, Columbia College
<http://www.colum.edu/centers/bpa/gallery/exhibitions.html>
You may wish to ask about visiting their excellent papermaking, bookbinding and printing facilities.

Paper Source <http://tinyurl.com/ofsmo> in the River North area, and is across the street from Pearl art supplies. These are in the River North Gallery district.

Aiko's isn't to be missed, north on Clark Street. <http://www.aikosart.com/>

With the free trolley system, getting around the city center is easy! <http://tinyurl.com/zelxs>
or take the river bus <http://www.wendellariverbus.com/>.

Metra is our train/bus system, for other city travel. You can link to it from the above River Bus site. Click on the All System Map.

I will be in Chicago over the July 4th weekend. If any one has suggestions as to book and handmade paper places to visit, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jane
