Didot is the measure in Europe but not England. The point is
Anglo-American.

What do you mean by font size? I think Tallas is referring to the
pica unit of measurement. 12 points to a pica, 6 pica to an inch. The
British fonts could be based on the Didot system which would account
for the difference, as I recall.
