I often do double-sided paste papers. I work on a smooth table  
surface that is easy to sponge off (I use a scrubbie type sponge for  
any dried paste, and it comes off just fine). I clean the table  
surface between sheets, unless I am working with similar colors sheet  
to sheet and wouldn't mind some color transfer. Once the paste dries,  
it should be totally inert, so it is simple and easy to rewet and  
work on the either side. Sometimes I do a layer on one side, let it  
dry, do a layer on the other side, dry, and continue on back and  
forth. If you use a scribing tool to make marks on one side, you may  
see unexpected interesting marks coming through on the other side.  
Usually I work on sheets larger than what I will be using, but not  
always. I find that serendipity with paste paper is one of its  
delights, so it is helpful and much more fun to embrace the unexpected.

What do you do about the paper stretching again when the paste is
applied? Do you remoisten? What about the other side getting smudged?

This double-sided pastepaper is intriguing.
