Subject: Environmental control
The following message is posted on behalf of Judy Sackett, who is not on the DistList. Please send replies directly to her. The University of Kentucky is building a new 2 million volume library (construction to begin summer 1994). The building program calls for 70 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees temperature and 50% plus or minus 3% relative humidity. The building will have open stacks and house a general, not rare book, collection. While current advice seems to be to get the best conditions you can afford and can maintain," I would appreciate hearing what new libraries or renovations are actually settling for. ... Thank you very much for your input. We need your help. FAIC seeks to improve CoOL and the DistList, and increase their value to the conservation field and beyond. In an effort to do so, we have put together a short, voluntary survey of DistList subscribers and other users of the CoOL website and its various resources. Please help us develop these invaluable resources by taking a few minutes to complete the survey
