Disaster Recovery Workshop, April 28, 1993 Location: New York Academy of Medicine, Conservation Laboratory, 2 East 103rd St., New York, NY. Instructors: Nelly Balloffet, Book and Paper Conservator and Library Preservation Consultant, Paper Star Associates and Ana B. Hofmann, Conservator of Photographs, Jose Orraca Studio. The instructors will discuss some aspects of disaster planning and describe methods of coping with emergencies so that they don't become full-fledged disasters. Most of the session will be devoted to the demonstration and practice of actual recovery techniques for books, documents, flat paper items, photographic materials and other non-print media. Participants should wear work clothing and non-skid shoes. All materials for the workshop will be provided. Registration fee: $60.00. Workshop is limited to 25 participants.
