Subject: Body secretions in books
We recently had a worker bleed over a large portion of our stacks. (Cut an artery on a light bulb). We handled the books with rubber gloves. Occupational Safety Officer said the main danger was from hepatitis. This passes in four weeks. Have books stored on book truck covered with heavy plastic. The officer was going to check on AIDS procedure for the blood. Has not gotten back to us on this after four weeks. AIDS not thought to be significant in this case. Hope this helps. *** Conservation DistList Instance 7:83 Distributed: Wednesday, May 18, 1994 Message Id: cdl-7-83-002 ***Received on Tuesday, 17 May, 1994
We need your help. FAIC seeks to improve CoOL and the DistList, and increase their value to the conservation field and beyond. In an effort to do so, we have put together a short, voluntary survey of DistList subscribers and other users of the CoOL website and its various resources. Please help us develop these invaluable resources by taking a few minutes to complete the survey
