Faded carbon copies

I have an extensive collection of carbon copies of manuscripts, most
of which have faded due to exposure to sunlight. In some cases the top
sheets are completely unreadable. Is there any treatment which will bring
back the text? The paper is the old canary-yellow second sheets, so it is
in pretty bad shape.
