Profiling conservation as a profession

The following is posted on behalf of Heather Williams:

My name is Heather Williams, I am an intern at the Royal British
Columbia Museum Victoria B.C., from DeMontfort University
Lincoln, England. I am currently investigating the profile of
conservation for a dissertation; mainly concerning the state of
conservation today around the world, how others perceive
conservation, particularly the public, and what can be done to
improve the profile of the profession and its role in heritage
preservation. I am inviting anyone who has a view on these
matters to respond freely. Many thanks in advance for any help,
    opinions or ideas given.

We need your help. FAIC seeks to improve CoOL and the DistList, and increase their value to the conservation field and beyond. In an effort to do so, we have put together a short, voluntary survey of DistList subscribers and other users of the CoOL website and its various resources. Please help us develop these invaluable resources by taking a few minutes to complete the survey
