I am looking for recommendations on conservation/restoration schools
for a gentleman from Mt. Athos, Greece, who is working on icons now,
but wants to enlarge his horizons to paper and objects also. Mt.
Athos has literally thousands and thousands of items from the 9th
through 18th centuries which they are committed to restoring. They
have made a huge commitment to growing a major restoration
laboratory for painting, paper and objects. Venis' ultimate goal is
to have experience in all of them and, ultimately, head up the
entire lab. So I would like to know the best schools with all of the
specialties under their domain.
