Removing Styrofoam from bookcloth

Would freezing the book work?  I would think that the styrofoam
would get brittle and snap off the book cloth. However, I don't know
the book and am not completely familiar with Cialux bookcloth, so
would be interested to hear other opinions before Martha surges
ahead with my idea.
