Subject: Kranse
Sharon Connell has a collection of delicate materials (Kranse) which may have been damaged by insects. If these materials are still harboring insects, eggs, or larvae, may I suggest treating them in an anoxic environment. We recently supplied a museum with anoxic "kits" to treat a collection of Native American Kachina dolls (in some cases, insect damage was so severe that the decorative feathers would break if touched.) Anoxic storage will also provide safe interim storage whilst the items are waiting for treatment. We need your help. FAIC seeks to improve CoOL and the DistList, and increase their value to the conservation field and beyond. In an effort to do so, we have put together a short, voluntary survey of DistList subscribers and other users of the CoOL website and its various resources. Please help us develop these invaluable resources by taking a few minutes to complete the survey
