Paper coated with red lead

From: Margie Searl <msearl>
Date: Thursday, May 14, 1998
There was an excellent article in the New Yorker magazine a number
of years ago, one in the Annals of Medicine series, that described
the near-fatal effects of red lead poisoning on a conservator who
was working with a red powdered pigment that had been cut with red
lead. I wonder if anyone remembers more about it.
