Conservation Science Research Assistant

The National Gallery of Art is seeking a research assistant for the
scientific research department. The incumbent will work with the
Gallery's scientists on the study and development of stable
conservation materials, focusing on those suitable for the
protection of outdoor bronze sculpture. A bachelor's degree in one
of the sciences or equivalent degree, experience using laboratory
instrumentation and a strong interest in conservation science are
required. Applicants with experience in the art conservation field
are preferred. This is a term position for a period of slightly more
than one year, starting immediately, with an annual salary of
$23,000. Applicants should send a resume and a cover letter
outlining education, experience and desire to work at the National
