This is a Paper Conservator position

The incumbent serves as the staff expert in the conservation and
preservation of paper-based artifacts and performs major and minor
treatments.  Examines and determines the type of treatment required.
Researches and uses various methods, techniques, tools and equipment
to treat, mount, and house Museum objects.  Prepares treatment
proposals and condition and treatment reports.  Develops innovative
treatment procedures to solve new and different problems.  Provides
advice on the treatment, handling, transit, storage, mounting, and
exhibition of paper-based artifacts.  Inspects the work of the
Exhibits Collection Care team and ensures it meets professional
Museum standards.  Advises and assists with the design and
construction of secondary supports, mounts, and housings of the
objects.  Provides advice on proper environmental conditions,
including temperature, relative humidity, etc.  Monitors macro and
micro environments.  Identifies environmental problems and proposes
possible solutions. Develops, writes, and presents lectures,
seminars and demonstrations on various aspects of conservation.
