An alternative to direct molding would be the creation of a three
dimensional scan of the object from which a copy could be made that
could be molded and cast in any material you might desire. We have
recently undertaken several such projects and I would recommend your
contacting Ron Street <ron.street [at] metmuseum__org> in the Molding
Studio for specifics.
