The Preservation Directorate of the Library of Congress has several
temporary conservation positions available immediately.  Book,
Paper, Photograph and Special Media conservators are encouraged to
apply for these positions.

The positions (referred to as Librarian - Preservation Specialist)
are preservation administration/conservator positions in the
Conservation Division of the Preservation Directorate or in one of
the curatorial division of the Library of Congress.  Applicants
should have expert knowledge and skills in the preservation of any
of the following: paper, books, photographs or special media.
Successful candidates will work to preserve and conserve the
Library's rarest, most valuable, and heavily accessed art, books,
manuscripts, photographs, recorded sound, moving images, or other
special media collections, with a great deal of independence in an
exemplary manner.  The incumbent will maintain high standards of
practice as defined by the relevant professional associations within
each area of specialty for the long-term conservation/preservation
of the Library's unique, historic, fragile and irreplaceable special
and general collections.

Positions are available at the following GS Grade Levels:

GS-1410-9   $40,044 - $52,058
GS-1410-11  $48,451 - $62,991
GS-1410-12  $58,070 - $75,492
