Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (half-time) in
the Department of Conservation and Technology from 1 October
    2003.

You will be responsible for teaching the theory and practice of
conservation through the supervision of all aspects of
conservation work. You will also be responsible for maintaining
the studios as active and effective work spaces, liaising with
owners and curators, dealing with enquiries from art history
staff and students. You will liaise closely with the
conservator in the Courtauld Gallery and on occasion assist
with, carry out or supervise student contributions to
    conservation in the Gallery.

A recognised conservation qualification is essential as well as
seven years' experience. Importance will be given to evidence

Paintings Conservator

Applications are invited for the post of Conservator in the
    Courtauld Institute Gallery.

The Courtauld Institute Gallery has a permanent collection of
paintings and a rapidly developing exhibitions policy. A
paintings conservator is sought who will take responsibility for
all aspects of collections care, loans and exhibitions,
co-ordinating picture movements as well as the
conservation-restoration of paintings in the collection. A
limited but clearly defined specialist contribution to teaching
    will be required.

You will need very good organisational skills, the ability to
liaise with curators, registrars, picture handlers, academic
staff and students. Excellent conservation-restoration skill is
a prerequisite, but it is anticipated that individual treatments
will not account for more than half of your time.

You must have a recognised postgraduate qualification in
paintings conservation and at least seven years' experience.

The conservator will be located in the Department of
Conservation and Technology and will work closely with the
Senior Curator and the Director of the Department.

Salary: in the range UKP24,325-UKP35,813 (including London
    Weighting).

Further details and an application form are available from
Vanessa Green, Executive Assistant on +44 20 7848 1881 or at
