Please join the Bay Area Art Conservation Guild (BAACG) when
internationally reknown objects conservator, author and speaker, Ms.
Virginia Greene, comes to San Francisco to speak on her life in
conservation on Saturday, May 17th (9am-noon) at the Morrison
Auditorium in the California Academy of Sciences (Golden Gate Park).
Her talk will draw from her archaeological excavation experiences in
Israel, Ireland and England and her extensive museum work in the
U.S. and will illustrate how the field of conservation has evolved
and changed throughout the years. Come hear Ms. Greene's fascinating
account of studying and preserving ancient and ethnographic objects
from diverse places and times across history.

This lecture is the fourth in the "Masters in Conservation" series
sponsored by BAACG and is co-sponsored by the California Academy of
Sciences. This lecture is free for BAACG members; Non-member cost is
$5.00; Student cost is $3.00. For more information or to RSVP,
please contact Niccolo Caldararo, BAACG Vice President
(caldararo [at] aol__com; 415-453-9064) before Wednesday, May 14.

Parking around the Music Concourse by the California Academy of
Sciences is usually difficult on weekends--bring your crisp dollar
bills and/or quarters ($1.00 per hour/one hour minimum) to buy a
required parking validation from the vending machines to place on
your dashboard. The Academy offers indoor secure parking for bikes
at their front entrance security desk. For additional information
