Subject: UKIC Historic Interiors Section
This new section of the United Kingdom Institute for Conservation <URL:http://www.ukic.org.uk> was created in 2001 in response to the unique challenges involved in the conservation of historic interiors. Major architectural projects often require a wide range of conservation specialists, working as a team to maintain the highest museum standards in often difficult conditions. The section has already proved itself a forum for communication and problem solving between a disparate range of professionals including conservators, architects, surveyors, consultants and curators. The post prints for the recent inaugural conference ' The Historic Interior Under Threat' will soon be available and the section also organises topical visits, seminars and meetings. Forthcoming events include: A study day in conjunction with the Textile Section to include papers on the Conservation of the Rennie MacKintosh Interior at 78 Derngate, Northampton. A study day at Brodsworth Hall on the theme of 'Conserving Decay' A Grand Costume Dinner to be held at the Georgian Group Headquarters,London. We need your help. FAIC seeks to improve CoOL and the DistList, and increase their value to the conservation field and beyond. In an effort to do so, we have put together a short, voluntary survey of DistList subscribers and other users of the CoOL website and its various resources. Please help us develop these invaluable resources by taking a few minutes to complete the survey
