of Museum Collections:

Free to a good home:

The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology at the University of Michigan is
giving away screens used for flat storage of textiles or paper. The
Kelsey has 450 surplus screens that were intended for flat storage
of textiles.

The screens are made from aluminum frames with nylon mesh, hard
plastic edge bumpers, and gaskets that are probably silicon.

400 screens are 30 x 54 inches, approximately 1 inch high).
50 screens are 40 x 68 inches, approximately 1 inch high).

The Kelsey uses these screens for the storage of light
archaeological textiles, but they could also be used for storing
works of art on paper or photographs. They are not suitable for
storing heavy items. The Kelsey currently uses these screens in
Delta museum cabinets, but they could fit other cabinets and rack
systems.

The screens are free, but interested parties must arrange
transportation to their institutions.
