A Fellowship in tapestry and textile conservation is offered by the
Textile Conservation Lab at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in
New York City. The full time position would be begin June and
continue for 3-7 months.  The applicant will primarily treat
tapestries from the Cathedral's collection in preparation for
reinstallation this coming winter as well as participate in other
ongoing conservation activities in the Textile Lab.

The applicant should be a recent graduate from an accredited
conservation program. She or he should have solid experience with
textile treatments including handling, stitching, dyeing, using a
sewing machine, storage, digital photography and should have an
interest in European tapestry.  He or she should be comfortable
working in a group environment, have good communication and writing
skills and have the ability to focus on detailed work for long
periods of time but should also be able to carry out activities that
are physical in nature, i.e. moving large, heavy tapestries and wet
cleaning.

Applicants should send a letter with a statement of interest, a CV,
graduate transcripts and treatment portfolio with documentation.
Please include three supporting letters from conservation
professionals familiar with the applicant's work.
